Technical Assistance

VEAP can deliver specific technical assistance to a manufacturer. After working together to determine a company’s needs, the VEAP partners may decide that the scope of work requires more detailed assistance. This assistance may be provided by one of the VEAP partners, or may be arranged by finding pre-qualified consultants to make a proposal to the company. The VEAP partners remain a part of the process by working in a project management role. Depending on the resource used to assist the company, there may or may not be a charge for these services.

In most cases, the involvement of the VEAP partners in a project also draws on our strength of inter-organization communication. For instance, there may be issues associated with the scope of work which a single consultant may not be able to provide. These issues could include a formal opinion on the compliance of a proposed process solution with ANR regulations, financial considerations, availability of grant funding, etc. VEAP strives to bring a total package view to environmental assistance projects.

Education

In our contact with manufacturers, the VEAP partners often realize that an issue either is a need of an industry sector, or is a topic, technology improvement, or regulatory requirement that will face a group of manufacturers in the near future. The VEAP partners discuss these needs as identified, and try to arrange for educational opportunities which can be made available to all manufacturers and/or interested parties. VEAP will also co-sponsor events which we believe to be of interest to manufacturers and commercial operations. In addition, the VEAP partners work together to apply for grants which can be used to fund environmentally-related educational programs and/or group projects in the state of Vermont.
