Our Mission

VEAP’s mission is to provide cost-effective and sustainable environmental assistance to Vermont businesses, with the emphasis on long-term pollution prevention methods and processes wherever feasible.

How will we accomplish this? The partners in VEAP have put together a collaboration plan which details how we will work together. By formalizing this relationship through a Memorandum of Understanding, the infrastructure has been put in place for a long-term concerted effort to provide the best environmental assistance to Vermont companies.

VEAP has identified four major areas in which Vermont businesses need this kind of coordinated environmental assistance:

  • Pollution Prevention
Direct assistance to businesses in reducing and eliminating waste.
  • Technical Improvements and Education
Creating workshops and seminar opportunities for companies to learn about environmental technologies. Also, providing direct project management support to manufacturers engaged in technical improvements to their process.
  • Environmental Management Systems-Related Activities
Includes services to help businesses implement good environmental management practices.
  • Permitting and Compliance Assistance
These services help Vermont businesses simplify the permitting process and understand compliance issues.
